Connected Worlds
As part of its partnership with the "Networked Worlds" initiative, Erste Bank Oesterreich supports projects run by NGOs in the social and environmental sectors. Three employees from s IT Solutions, Christiane Riediger, Markus Brutti and Georg Melcher, have taken on an IT project for the Abraham youth centre run by the Don Bosco refugee organisation.
Creating prospects for the future. Since it was founded in 2004, the Abraham youth centre has looked after around 140 young people from over 20 nations. The young people are given the opportunity to attend German courses and go to school. They are looked after by trained Don Bosco employees and volunteers. "NGOs are a very interesting area that we don't normally come into contact with, but we can learn a lot from them," says Georg Melcher.
More time for the young people. The task for the project team: to develop a web-based data management system for Don Bosco employees. The aim: to speed up the processing of reports for supporting organisations, diaries and reports on the development of the young people, as well as administrative activities. What remains is more time for looking after the young people. The s IT Solutions team not only makes the technical step from duplicate data storage in various Office documents to a more flexible way of working possible, they also take over the training of users in the Abraham youth centre.
